We enjoyed the guacamole and salsa. The medium guacamole and it was fairly spicy. Each person ordered a different kind of enchiladas and tacos and then we traded around so that everyone could try several kinds. We were severed quickly which would be good for people who have an evening engagement. Our only complaint was that it was quick noisy which made it difficult to hear each other at our table.
I was in the city to see a musical downtown and we made it a point to stop in for dinner. This restaurant does not disappoint. Traditional Puerto Rican food cooked just like Mom would, with love. Very, very tasty indeed. The mofongo with fried pork is my favorite. I’ll be back!
I discovered this absolute gem of a spot by happenstance due to occasionally working in the area. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They have a large variety of sauces, canned goods, crackers, etc. (basically whatever you could possibly want to go with a seafood meal). Behind the counter, they also have an amazing variety of fresh seafood, in house smoked fish, and salads. But the star of the show, for me, is their takeout menu. I've had the shrimp po boy, the crab cake, and fried clam strips all of which were excellent. The prices are great too. The last time I was there, I was craving calamari but also wanted a sandwich. I asked if they could substitute calamari for the shrimp in the po boy. The lady behind the counter was super nice and accommodating, as they always are there. Best seafood sandwich of any kind that I've ever had in my life! 10/10 would reccomend to anyone. We need to preserve these small neighborhood spots at all costs before there's nothing left but Jewel, Marianos, and Whole Foods on every corner. Great food, great service, great people.
I had the shrimp and grits.very different from the last time . It was rubbery and overcooked with way too much sauce. We always have to wait along time for things we asked for-a for, salt, ice tea. Looks like you are understaffed
I made a reservation by calling the restaurant as we had too big a group to book on opentable. when we were there, they didn't just have one table for us, they told us we could just go in their back room and order the bar. if I had told myself that they wouldn't really give us a table, I would never have gone there. the bartender was rude and not helpful. also the back was full of younger and very loud people. When we asked if we were even divided into two groups, they said no. we got a great meal at the fulton market. will never go to haymarket again.
I'm such a fan. So delicious! And great prices! The empanadas were ever so tasty, and when I'm not cheating, they're great with food allergies. Top it off, they've got cute quirky kitschy 80s-90s style. Defo rec.Dietary restrictions: They made sure I didn't have gluten or dairy in my dish. Primo.
