Mom told me right off the bat, these clams are super fresh. She knows this because when she shucked them they were LOADED with juice. Normally after shucking 8 doz top necks she fills 2 quart sized containers. She anticipates needing a 3rd these are so fresh and juicy. ON TOP OF THAT Jeff was a real doll and personally delivered our order since I was jumping through hoops trying to get there to pick them up. What a lifesaver and what a great resource for fresh fish! THANK YOU JEFF!
Whaaaat?! I haven't reviewed Jeff's?! Ok quick take. It's a shack. No really, it's a shack. A shack that's been around for quite a long time. They get in fresh fish seafood. You can get texts when the fish is coming in even reserve your bounty. Like my dad I did with the latest special Live Soft Shell Crabs. Easy to clean, but not for the squeamish. They are about to open up a food truck on the lot. I'll keep ya posted. 5-4-2017
I really wanted to like Jeff 's crab shack. It 's a little shack by the side of the road, looking homely and cheap, but I stopped there several times and asked for Bluefish but no bluefish! The guy was moving crabs from basket to basket and after a few minutes deigned to lift his head and answer me: Come back at 6 ! Also, I noticed that when I was stopped at the light in front of the store (I work in Wyandach) the place freekin stank! I mean really overpowering smell that permeated a closed-windowed air-conditioned car! That 's not a good sign. I think I 'll avoid The Shack. I really wanted to like it, but ooh!! that smell.
If your looking for fresh fish crabs it's gets no fresher than just caught. Jeff his dad are extremely helpful and friendly, it's like stopping in to see family. I highly recommend them, stop by sometime, but save some for me.
I went to Jeff's Crab Shack today I picked up some little neck clams and some Dungeness clusters, I made some clams Casino and had someone half shell they were oh so good they tasted like they just came right out of the sea I steam the Dungeness clusters and they will also very good so if you want some fresh fish right out of the ocean or some blue claw crabs from the Great South Bay you can go there and get them they sell them by the Dozen not by the pound like most other seafood markets
