If you didn’t know there’s a deli in the building you’d miss it and a absolutely great sandwich. We don’t get to the area often but when we do this is top of our lis for lunch.

Today was rainy so it was the perfect day to head to Great Gut for lunch. My only regret was that with the cloudy rainy weather I couldn't see the Sound that's right off the Great Gut deck. Still, inside Great Gut the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I can't say enough about this spot and this time I brought along a friend who was there for the first time. I knew she'd love it as much as I do and she did. For lunch I ordered a delicious bowl of red pepper and tomato soup which came with a nice pile of shredded cheese in the middle. I also ordered a Chef's Salad with Ranch Dressing. That was a lot of food so I took home half the Chef's Salad which will be tomorrow's lunch. While garnering a table I ran into three people that I know which is a fun part of Great Gut it's a true locals paradise. It was a busy lunch but the staff took care of everyone and the atmosphere is so relaxed and enjoyable that you just go with the flow. It's the type of place that makes you want to linger. My friend ordered a chicken wrap and loved it. We ate our lunch slowly and hung around for awhile and by the time we left the sun was shining! We will return soon.

A bit difficult to find but definitely worth the effort. We had the clam chowder soup and a reuben sandwich. The soup was excellent and the sandwich was one of the best I ever had. It sure doesn't look like a great place from the outside but it is clean and has very nice people inside. We will be making this a standard stop when we are in the area.

Found the deli through trip advisor. It was about a half hour drive from where we were staying, but was definitely worth the trip. Food was wonderful; my wife had the Reuben and I had a shrimp salad sandwich. Portions are generous, so you won’t go away hungry. Owners/staff were friendly and helpful, even helping with recommendations on buying fresh seafood in town.

Hole in the wall local joint with tourist somehow finding their way to it. Food was most excellent. We had a Grilled Chicken Salad BBQ Sandwich with side. If you like the town secret local feel then knock yourself out. Don't come here if your just going to complain that the place is old and whatever. It is what it is and it is not pretending to be something that it's not. I would love to live nearby to sample more of the menu but alas I had to leave.

Great food. alittle pricey but what isn't these days. The Cuban is decent. The Italian is good too.

Just shoot me! I’m so miserable! My daughter, granddaughters, and I ordered a late evening takeout from ST. My granddaughters ordered personal sized pizzas (kids right??? . My 5 yo dove into hers immediately, but my daughter managed to grab a bite and commented on how delicious it was. My 12 yo was a bit wiser!!! She waited until my daughter and I opened our variety of boxes and containers and decided to sample everyone else’s before unboxing her own pizza. She sampled her mom”s pork chops first and declared them scrumptious, then baked potato salad, in which she “sampled” about a dozen bites. Then she tried my grilled BBQ chicken, topped with sautéed onions, bacon, cheese, and scallions, which was also the largest chicken breast serving I’ve ever seen! She commented on how good it was, and then over comes my daughter who declares, “it is the most moist chicken breast I’ve ever tasted!” Of course by this time, my mouth was watering! I had decided to eat my side salad first, which was fresh and delicious with homemade dressing and croutons. Not wanting to waste any of the salad, as i had already doused it in dressing, I continued to eat it. By this time my 5 yo was finished with her pizza and came over to get in on the chicken action. At this point I’m starting to get a little concerned! My huge piece of chicken, which I’ve only heard rave reviews from my family about, had diminished to about half its original size. I was finally able to devour the rest of my salad, and take my first bite. Their comments were understatements! It was the best piece of chicken I’ve ever put into my mouth! And, GOOD NEWS, I tried, but couldn’t even finish the large half that was left. GOOD NEWS, that is if I get to the refrigerator first in the morning! THE RACE IS ON! Southern Table, we will be back!!!
