this place is approx. 20 car minutes from snowshoe but it is worth it! the trout here is all fresh because they harvest from their pools around the restaurant! the food was so fresh and we got the smoked forellenstarter, and that was absolutely amazing. I've been the bbq brisket afteros and this ding was huge and was just $10! it was more than enough for me! my wife and my son had the fish and chips, and both said 5 stars. then we had dessert and the Oreo-Pie is one must try and it made every day off! this place is definitiw the trip worth, and it is a cool place to go around and visit the river!

we have so many great memories of elk springs and on this restaurant and bar. the personal is so friendly. I can't tell them how many wonderful memories we had here. my father, my wife and I love the staff, and several things on the menu. I highly recommend the cucumber soup. I also recommend ruben eirolle, burger, forellen nuggets and the trout. I would particularly like to mention some of the workers like tracy, nikki, jamie and rhonda. great restaurant. great place. great fishing.

my important other and I decided to have a romantic night for dinner while I visited snowshoe for a weekend of skiing. the elk river inn and restaurant is located 20 minutes away on the foot of the mountain, right on its name encoder elk river. what this evaluation really carries is eating and the atmosphere. it is very homelike feeling with lots of wood interior and cozy memories around them that they are in the mountains. I would not consider the interior kitsch, but, decor suitable for what it is. it was built in the 1980s and reflects in a certain amount the time it was built by its facility. in some way it reminds me of the house of my parents and I can appreciate this kind of decor. for dinner we had a meat and cheeseboard, rainbow trout and duck breast. That is what we were better satisfied with. the food was delicious and proportional to fulfill. I had a glass of wine and a beer. the prices are similar to what we know while we eat high in dc, and we were not as surprised to find out here. if they are looking for a little moderate price, then this could not be the place for them. service was less than amazing. it was slow and a bit amiss. that's why this is not a 5-star rating. it was disappointing. she was nice enough, but not someone I want to have as a server. we were next to a table that had another server and he was on his game without beat. this is worth a visit if they want to get an evening away from the mountain. it was refreshing to have eat that didn't include something fried, a burger or sandwich.

We booked one of the last available rooms in the area here for Valentines Day. When we did, the hostess asked on the phone if we would like to take the last reservation at their Five star restaurant so we said yes as it is difficult to get a last minute reservation three days before Valentines Day. We didn't really think that the restaurant would be as wonderful as it was in the middle of West Virginia. We walked in at dinner and the restaurant was packed with locals, always a good sign. We had a table in a quiet corner near the roaring fireplace. My Osso Buco was delicious, and fell right off the bone and the sides were to die for. The filet mignon by boyfriend had was cooked and seasoned to perfection. We also had breakfast here the next morning (included in your stay) and I was impressed by the variety of food available. Way more than we were expecting and way more than you would get for breakfast at a nearby ski resort. The produce at both breakfast and dinner was also very fresh. Nice to see such a pride in food quality when the cost of transporting to the mountains is so high. Only complaint is that the beds were a bit squeaky for a romantic getaway. The food is a bit pricey but super worth it!

I went on New Years Eve with a party of eight. We arrived a little early and they had us wait in a very comfortable sitting room of the Inn with a fireplace and very comfortable couches. They brought us drinks there as well. It was very nice and I would have been happy sitting there longer but they had our table ready right on time! The food was all wonderful. They had a very interesting variety of great salad choices and a wonderful variety of entree choices from pork belly and scallops with mashed potatoes, to freshly caught trout with creamy polenta, to wonderful steaks and a great lamb stew. Nice assortment. Everyone enjoyed their choices immensely! The dessert that was absolutely to die for was their Sticky Date Pudding. It was one of the best desserts I have had in quite a long time and I love to cook and am always searching out new creative recipes) . I had never had this entry, but afterwards ordered it somewhere else. The other did not come CLOSE to being as wonderful as this one (much drier and just ok). Theirs was so, so moist and just heavenly! It was served with a dollop of fresh whip cream and a dollop of French Vanilla ice cream. What a perfect addition! I cannot say enough about how delicious this was. The service also was awesome! And we were right near a fireplace. Such a lovely atmosphere. All around great experience!!!

Great spot. Cabins are simple, clean, and cozy. The restaurant is great. We had two meals here for dinner. All first rate. Had the duck breast, which was the special that night. Outstanding. The apps are worth making a meal out of. Deviled eggs with crispy exterior, meatballs, grilled caesar. Nice wine list. Worth checking out.

Just shoot me! I’m so miserable! My daughter, granddaughters, and I ordered a late evening takeout from ST. My granddaughters ordered personal sized pizzas (kids right??? . My 5 yo dove into hers immediately, but my daughter managed to grab a bite and commented on how delicious it was. My 12 yo was a bit wiser!!! She waited until my daughter and I opened our variety of boxes and containers and decided to sample everyone else’s before unboxing her own pizza. She sampled her mom”s pork chops first and declared them scrumptious, then baked potato salad, in which she “sampled” about a dozen bites. Then she tried my grilled BBQ chicken, topped with sautéed onions, bacon, cheese, and scallions, which was also the largest chicken breast serving I’ve ever seen! She commented on how good it was, and then over comes my daughter who declares, “it is the most moist chicken breast I’ve ever tasted!” Of course by this time, my mouth was watering! I had decided to eat my side salad first, which was fresh and delicious with homemade dressing and croutons. Not wanting to waste any of the salad, as i had already doused it in dressing, I continued to eat it. By this time my 5 yo was finished with her pizza and came over to get in on the chicken action. At this point I’m starting to get a little concerned! My huge piece of chicken, which I’ve only heard rave reviews from my family about, had diminished to about half its original size. I was finally able to devour the rest of my salad, and take my first bite. Their comments were understatements! It was the best piece of chicken I’ve ever put into my mouth! And, GOOD NEWS, I tried, but couldn’t even finish the large half that was left. GOOD NEWS, that is if I get to the refrigerator first in the morning! THE RACE IS ON! Southern Table, we will be back!!!
