Wow! I had no idea this place is so good. I ate at bunch of restaurants on Sawtelle Area and this restaurant in a run down strip mall was the best meal I had all week. I loved the spicy hamachi. My son had the chicken teriyaki bowl and spicy salmon roll.:chef’s kiss:Keep in mind there is no place to eat outside.I was staying at found Santa Monica by sonder which is literally across the street so I ate there

The location looks sketchy but the rolls are excellent

I ordered delivery from them using Yelp. The prices on the Yelp delivery option differ from the prices on their menu. For example, the Philadelphia roll is $9.50 on their menu, while I paid $10.99 for it.I ordered the Philly roll, salmon roll, and fried California roll. Yelp charged me with tax, tip, delivery, AND service fees. I ended up paying $41 for only three rolls.Pretty pricey! With that being said, the sushi was delicious. This is why I'm giving them 4 out of 5 even though I paid a ridiculous price for only three rolls. Everything was fresh and tasted great. Next time I'll drive to the restaurant, stay and eat there instead of ordering delivery.

What's not to love? It's well priced. The quality is good. You get it out of a little shack in a strip mall. Get the mixed tempura and the sushi sampler as a minimum.Food: 5/5

Toms Sushi House is a wonderful casual restaurant if you're looking for food that isn't super cheap but not super expensive the perfect middle. I've only ever ordered takeout so cannot comment on the service or ambience. I will say:Rainbow roll (5/5): one of the cheapest rainbow rolls you will find in the area and the fish quality is good. The ratio between fish and rice is great. Dragon Roll (4/5): this roll was good but I wish the unagi slices were a bit thicker. They were on the thin side so didn't get as much of the unagi flavor. Spicy Yellowtail (3/5): I wasn't the biggest fan only because the onions were a little overpowering. But the price is very good for the amount of fish so if u like onions, this may not be bad for you. Spicy Garlic Bowl (4.5/5): very flavorful and large portion! decent breading to chicken ratio though some of the smaller pieces were a little too breaded (if that makes sense)Will def keep ordering!!

From the outside, it looks like a shack, but don't fall for it.GREAT food! HUGE portions. The gyoza are amazing.Sushis were so good! The service was quick and the food delicious.I recommend.Vegetarian options: I ordered.the kimchi fried rice with tofu and the tofu fried rice. Both were excellent.

The fish on the sushi wasn't fresh. But the call-in and pickup was pretty easy. The prices are on par with other area sushi spots so I was really hoping the sushi would blow me away at this hole in the wall. But alas that's is not the case.

My favorite guilty pleasure when I need to treat myself since this is nice local sushi spot.Since I live near here, it's always been a nice walk to pick up food after a long day when I don't feel like cooking. I absolutely recommend their spicy tuna with crispy rice and baked salmon roll. it's absolutely delicious. Definitely would recommend calling and ordering here a little early around lunch and dinner time because it can get pretty slammed. During busy dinner time it is like about ~45-60 min wait. I have heard the management has changed a little white back so looking at older pictures, I can see the portions have gotten smaller and prices gotten up. But still the quality is super good, so I am happy to keep coming back and support a local small business!
