I've been a patron of this restaurant for more than 10 years. I've watched it grow from a humble treasure to a grabby aspirational hot spot. The menu, food, servers, decor, and ambiance have changed. A few years back they started hiring attractive hostesses and servers. Attractive and competent aren't the same thing. The food used to be more flavorful and generous. There's less variety of ingredients within the dishes now and they are smaller. Prices have nearly doubled. The environment is no longer quaint, it's flashy and social media obsessed. All of this is tolerable when you have a good experience. This time, unfortunately, we had a round of sour milk in our Thai iced-teas. We sent them back and received fresh ones. However, that evening all five of us experienced varying degrees of digestive upset ranging from nausea to being unable to leave the bathroom for hours. It was not due to spicy food either, we ate a level 4, normally it's a level 6 for us. All in all, it's sad. We used to love the place.

Best Thai food in Los Angeles, hands down! The classic dishes are authentic and the service is exceptional.

I love their food. They prepare it as spicy as I like it!

I had a reservation for two at 6:30. My girlfriend came in 5 minutes prior, I was 8 minutes late. There were maybe 5 tables occupied. The waitress avoided us for at least 10 minutes before bringing over menus and taking a drink order.she came back promptly to take our order. We ordered two dishes, pad Thai and curry. 30 minutes later we still don’t have food. We call her over to check on the food, she runs back to the kitchen and brings our dishes. We start tasting the food and it’s stone cold. We call her over again. She sticks her finger in the curry to check the temperature. Takes the plates back and emerges from the kitchen 5 minutes later with the same bowls she stuck her finger in. They were were microwaved to the point that the outside was crusty and dry. I was flabbergasted. I kindly explain to her that it’s not sanitary to do that. We get up to leave because at this point I’ve lost my appetite. She brings us the bill for our two iced teas and pretends like nothing is wrong. So no, I will not be going back.

The only Thai place to serve me food as spicy as I like it! Sooo good. You really will need a reservation, usually there is a wait for a table, and with good reason. The owner is very nice and personable, it’s wonderful that he carries on his mother’s legacy
