I’ve eaten here at least 20 times, but last night, being Feb. 12, 2010 and then a few weeks earlier, I have noticed that it has begun to slip. They dropped lamb shanks from their menu, but never even bothered to cross it off of their menu. People were their placing orders for it with the waiters trying to explain that they no longer served. After insisting, I had my waiter cross it off my menu. I had the calamari, octopus with cucumber salad, crispy duck, scallops and grouper….there were four three of us. The calamari was served somewhat soggy, but not bad. It has a very good Thai peanut flavor and was tender enough. However, in the past it was never served soggy. The duck was good and crispy as was the grouper. Nothing special as far as good Thai cooking is concerned but not bad. There was certainly enough of a wait staff, but they seemed confused, ill trained and stumbling over each other. My biggest objection is that none of them know enough or care enough not to reach all the way across the table in front of others in order to ultimately place a dish in front of the person they are actually serving. As I know other good Asian/Thai restaurants, I won’t be bothering to go out of my way to return to Galanga.
